When it comes to search engine optimization services, many businesses often find themselves reluctant to dive into this area. Although SEO marketing is one of the best things one can do for their business growth, some business owners don’t think it’s worth paying for – or even doing.

Unfortunately, this is one of the numerous misconceptions around SEO marketing. Business owners either tend to think that SEO is natural and won’t take them too much time to set up a strategy on their own, or that it’s not worth the effort. However, there are plenty of merits to doing SEO right. If you’re wondering why you should pay for search engine optimization services and not merely disregard SEO, here’s why:

It’s Where Customers Are

With the expansion of online shopping and the prevalence of Google, it’s virtually unthinkable for a customer to purchase anything before searching online for it first. That’s a massive opportunity for businesses with a robust online presence, but the problem is: how do you get that strong presence?

The answer lies in SEO, which can propel you to the top of Google search results for a keyword that you optimize for – if you can do it well enough. It doesn’t only apply for businesses trying to rank on Google: SEO affects the public perception of your brand and influences the customers’ purchasing decisions.

Organic Search Still Reigns Supreme

Another argument in favour of SEO marketing is that organic search is still the primary source of website traffic, meaning that the majority of people ignore paid ads and opt for what they perceive as quality. And ranking means a lot when it comes to customers making those decisions. They’re far more likely to click on the top non-ad result as they know that Google has determined it to be the best fit for their query. PPC ads are a great way to supplement an SEO campaign, but they will likely have weaker results on their own.

It’s Cost Effective

Finally, if you’re adhering to SEO best practices for your website, you can expect to pay much less in the long run than you would for maintaining PPC ads. Of course, your mileage may vary, depending on the industry and how competitive the keywords are. It’s possible to do a PPC campaign on a budget, but you’ll only have results as long as you’re paying.

As opposed to that, search engine optimization services pay off in the long run. It may seem expensive at first, but SEO that’s done well will continue to bring you traffic, visibility and conversions even years down the road. And let’s not forget all the benefits like thought leadership and increased trust from your existing customers!

However, keep in mind that SEO strategies can take some time before they begin to yield results you’re hoping for.

Even though getting your business noticed online is a journey and not a race, there are ways for you to see results faster. If that’s something you want, don’t hesitate to contact me. I’d love to discuss your marketing strategy and help in any way I can.
